Joe Friedman

Joe is from Portland, Oregon, and received an undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in Economics. Joe began his career in healthcare analytics in Portland but pivoted to renewable energy in 2017 and subsequently moved to Oakland, California in 2019 to take on a new role at a renewable project development company and continue the fight against the climate crisis. In his current role, Joe helps corporate and industrial clients contract renewable energy assets in order to achieve their publicly stated science-based sustainability goals. 

Outside of work, Joe is a passionate musician who has been playing bass guitar and piano since he was ten years old. It was Joe’s admiration for and inspiration from so much music that was born from Oakland’s black community over the years that motivated his journey to relocate to Oakland and immerse himself in the music scene. Joe is attracted to experiences that pull him outside of his comfort zone, challenge his thinking conventions, and grow his community of friends and colleagues.
